Rodeo fever strikes again!
It was a year ago already! I snaffled a position as a volunteer photographer for the Coolgardie Outback Festival rodeo. I was both ridiculously excited and bloody terrified!! I fly drones and shoot aerial landscapes - no people anywhere! And here I was heading off to shoot fast action packed excitement in the form of cowboys n cowgirls, horses and ornery grumpy bulls, with dust flying everywhere! Talk about outta my comfort zone!
I love the Goldfields, I love country music, heck I’m even used to dust flying everywhere, and I have to admit I’ve always felt an affinity for the western lifestyle… cowboy western that is :)
So off I went, the rodeo I shot, and a hell of a blast I had! I met the best people, the kindest people, and experienced a close knit community coming together to compete, to celebrate, to catch up with and experience each other, to create more memories and to let their hair down.
I was hooked! It was an absolute honour to witness and capture all this.
I can’t wait to do it all again next week as an official Outback Rodeo Media Team member!
Got your tickets yet? See you out there!
