Photo licence and copyright

Rodeo photograph by Tracey Cooke Photography, shared with credit

Every photo on this site is my own work, and I keep the copyright. This page explains what you can do with a rodeo or event photo you’ve downloaded, how to share it with credit. If you’re not sure whether a use is okay, just ask.

What you're buying

When you buy a digital download from one of my rodeo or event galleries, you're buying a licence to use that photo in the ways set out below.
You're not buying the copyright.

Copyright

Every photo in my galleries is my own work, and I keep the copyright in each one. When you buy a download, you're buying a licence to enjoy and use the photo in the ways described here, rather than the copyright itself. The licence is personal to you, so please don't pass it on. If you share the photo, I'd love you to credit me. It means a lot to a small business like mine.

What you can do

  • View and enjoy your photo on your own devices and screens.

  • Share it on social media or your own website, with credit (see below).

  • With the high resolution download, print it for yourself or as a gift, at a lab or printer of your choice, and frame it.

Credit. Whenever you share your photo, please credit me as "Photo: Tracey Cooke Photography" and tag me @traceycookephotography. Please leave any watermark or credit on the image as it is. Attributing photo credit is a legal requirement in Australia.

Please don't

  • Please don't edit, retouch or apply filters to the photo, or remove a watermark or credit. Cropping to fit a social media format is fine.

  • Please don't use it commercially, including for advertising, sponsorship, merchandise or promoting a business. If you'd like to use a photo commercially, please get in touch and we'll talk it through.

  • Please don't sell it, resell it or print it for sale.

  • Please don't share the file itself with others, or upload it to a stock site or file-sharing service.

  • Please don't use it to train, test or prompt AI tools, or to generate new images.
