The Nullabor Muster

The main event…

This one has been a little challenging to write as I kept waffling on so I’ve broken it down to this!

The Nullabor Muster is a rodeo held annually in Rawlinna, a tiny abandoned town approximately 380km east of Kalgoorlie, on the edge of the Nullabor Plain, in Western Australia.

Here are the 5 top things I loved about it!

  1. The people!

Everyone was friendly and cool and all there to have a good time. Being so far out means you get genuine people with hearts of gold who are there to enjoy a well planned multi-day event.

2. The ablutions block

I’ve never encountered showers quite this powerful or hot, they were the best for washing your hair, they heated up really quickly, and there were plenty of them.

There were plenty of toilets and they were cleaned every 30 mins or so, or so it seemed. I’ve only been to one other place where the toilets were so well attended to.

The queue never got too long and it never took too long to get your turn

Definitely not what I was expecting out there.

3. The atmosphere

It was such a well run event, the committee really know their stuff. Everything was thought of, down to fuel availability and fuel refilling time.

The cafe/canteen catered to the hungry crowd non stop throughout the 2 days I was there.

The whole vibe was relaxed, friendly and happy, and chilled, and did I mention friendly?

4. That one bloody road!

It was a hell of a drive, not so bad on the way in, bloody terrible on the way back. Rough as guts especially after a ton of traffic when ripping down it 😂 A huge part of the adventure! 😍

5. I finally got there 🥰

After about 5 odd years of wanting to go to this one I finally made it, so glad I did and I’ll definitely be back 😁
